The thing that drew me to Unity was its cross-platform support and I'd seen a time lapse video of a game level being created and I was filled with hope and was totally inspired. I started with some tutorials from Unity but needed more understanding of the "how" and the "why".
Ben's 'Learn to Code by Making Games - The Complete Unity Developer Course' and 'Learn 3D Modelling - The Complete Blender Creator Course' filled the gaps even though I haven't managed to complete either course yet. After importing my mushroom model into Unity I realised that it would be fun to create a space shooter game but to replace the more traditional space elements with dangerous vegetables and so... Veg Wars was born.
It was hard to believe when I first saw Veg Wars on the Google Play store. Something that I made was really on the internet where people from Canada to New Zealand had access to my creation. It was really rewarding to know that people were having fun with it. The best part, however, is that my kids think I'm super cool because I created a real game.
I'd like to thank Ben and his team for providing such awesome resources which have made it possible for me to fulfil a dream.
Definitely a super cool Dad Antuan!
